Hattrick - Cup III round - hipici : Ersan

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 33322 had shown up at orfej field for the match. Everyone was excited about the upcoming Sarajevo derby and the crowd was divided evenly.
hipici had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. Lineup: Chelaru - Dinulescu, Radoman, Errico, Ögetürk - Shcherban, Sierro, Larsen Nielsen, Engl, Brøgger - Denicola.
A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Ersan. Starters: Lago - Elliott, Darch, Lovrak - Drljača, Radinović, Mekišius, Quesada - Bilić, Jauković, Doberstein.

hipici were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. After 5 minutes, Ersan's Javitas Mekišius made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. A drive on the left side allowed Ersan's Scott Elliott to get in close and score a goal in the 7:th minute, leading to 0 - 2. A great pass from the defensive line of hipici resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by Herbert Engl in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. Some fine manoeuvring on the left led to a Ersan goal in the 29:th minute, making it 0 - 3. Javitas Mekišius was noted down as the scorer. Ersan's Javitas Mekišius was shown a yellow card after 30 minutes for slicing down an opponent. A loud groan was heard from the fans of hipici, as Hansruedi Denicola left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. Vaha Stupac took his place on the field. After 36 minutes of game time, Alfred Doberstein had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but Andrei Chelaru was in the right place and tipped the ball to a corner. Having turned the direction of play quickly, the hipici attack ends as the ball carrier is brought down violently by a defender after 37 minutes. The resulting free kick is a flat shot into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and did not allow the opponents to reach the ball. The referee showed Ersan's Sadik Bilić the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. hipici were forced to a substitution as Ogün Ögetürk couldn't continue playing due to the rough treatment, forcing Filipe Candeias to come in from the sidelines. 0 - 3 was the halftime score. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Ersan, with an impressive 67 percent possession of the ball.

The home crowd was not impressed when Sadik Bilić came in from the right, shooting hard to score in the 63:th minute. Ersan were now up 0 - 4. hipici's opponents know to be wary of Vaha Stupac's speed, but it made little difference as he blew past the defence in the 69:th minute. Only the keeper could stop him - and he did with a perfectly timed dive! The home crowd cheered when, in the 73:th minute, Sadik Bilić's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. In the game's 89:th minute hipici's Benjamin Brøgger limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. The visitors added to their lead in the 90:th minute, after a sensational penalty kick by Ersan's Mathias Darch slid just past the home keeper. 0 - 5. At this point in the game, defending their lead became the main priority for Ersan. This half belonged to Ersan, who controlled the ball 64 percent of the time.

Most important hipici player was Herbert Engl. Andrei Chelaru turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Ersan player was without a doubt Javitas Mekišius. On the other hand, Vedad Jauković's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 5.
