Next we changed the beach and went to Mamzar Beach Park. We walked fifteen or so minutes from bus stop to get to the beach. That walk got me to concentrate on green in Dubai. I heard of efforts Dubai puts in to have beautiful trees, flowers, grass...but in Mamzar Park I saw some of those efforts and was amazed. Almost every tree or piece of green land had pipe(s) bringing desalinated water to it. They were not obvious, to distract beauty of green land, but they were there and somewhat visible. In my mind I compared green areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina that are naturally there with green areas in Mamzar park, and Dubai as a whole, who need a lot of persistent efforts to keep alive… Even though Mamzar had attributes to be better beach, Elma and I liked Jumeirah more. Who knows why that could be…it could very well be our rash exit from hotel room resulting in forgetting to bring towels to the beach! Towel incident was fixed with enjoying pool and having dinner on the boat. That night we found out that we will not dine in Burj Al Arab as agency did not make reservation for us. Therefore, we decided to compensate with dinner on the boat and safari that was planned for last day. Dinner on the boat, some ride on water with ability to see city from deck along with having dinner, in a nutshell is not something special but for two lovebirds on honeymoon it was first-class experience! Next day we decide to enjoy Arabian traditions i.e. eat Arabian food and visit Madinat Jumeirah (who was build to resemble ancient Arabian cities). We had breakfast, or rather had lunch, in local restaurant serving local food (actually Lebanese, but still…). I have had various local appetizers while Elma played it safe with shrimp. We went for Madinat with filled stomachs. Upon entering Madinat I have had feeling as if was in Bascarsija in Sarajevo…there were many souvenir shops. We moved methodically, not taking to much time in shops, from the entrance and after some time we found ourselves on part of Madinat that reminded us of Venice. Scene filled with opulent restaurants and bars next to water with abras (boat like gondola) with ancient style villas was more than idyllic. Elma and I filled that scene as much as they allowed us (some parts are reserved for guests of hotels and villas). Abra ride is not romanticized Venice gondola ride with serenade that we see in movies, but we did not complain. On the contrary…we have had great time!! After Madinat visit we went to the hotel room, got lazy and concentrated on health issues. Elma had toothache while I, like every old gentleman, had back problems. Afternoon winds finally got to us!! Besides my visit to the KFC and Dunkin Donats to get food, donuts and coffee we did not go nowhere until next night. Next night was Safari time. It started with crazy desert ride. When we were informed to put safety belts on I thought it was pro forma information. However, soon after I was holding with both hands, legs too, to keep some balance while at the same time thinking it is all to no avail as we will turn over for sure. I do not know how long all this lasted, but I do know that we stopped three times to look around and throw up (yep, some felt need to do that as well). After this ride Elma and I had different kind off ride. This ride, camel, felt no safer. I have had feeling that poor camel will throw me down at any moment. After we survived all that excitement, it was time for food. Well deserved food if I may write so. We ate while watching belly dancer who was enfolding and squirming as much as she could. At one moment she took couples on stage with her. Elma and I were chosen as well so Elma started to enfold and squirm. I tried too, but I am weak at that sport, I mean art. Belly dancer noticed that which resulted in kidnapping of my wife for couple of enfolding and squirming minutes. And that was it…next day we arrived to snowy Sarajevo.
