As I was walking down Argyle street in Chicago I heard interesting comment that got stuck in my mind until today: "Asians are either too modern or too traditional". Looking at the trends of naming children in the last couple of years I am under same impression; children names are either too modern or too traditional. Of course, this is subjective opinion and for that reason I am not going to give examples. Actually not only for that reason, I would not want to insult anyone either.
Although Elma and I are not sure about gender yet, most likely girl, we slowly started search for perfect name for our baby. Our search, for now, is based on web and my mother's and aunt's of guard responses. We are about to get to: thought out family suggestions, ideas from movies, serials, books...
After checking out websites that have lists of various names Elma and I made our own list!

• Adani - French: pretty, noble.
• Asia - Arabic: lively, the rising sun, a variant of Aisha which means life
• Dani - Arabic: near, close
• Diona - variant of Greek Dione, meaning "the goddess"
• Hena
• Islin (Isleen) - English variant of Irish/Gaelic Aisling, meaning dream, vision
• Kurt - originated as a short form of Curtis, Konrad (Conrad), and Kunibert. Curt means to be impolitely brief. It also means wolf on Turkish
• Laris
• Lena
• Luan - Albanian name meaning lion
• Samarin (Camarin) - Native American Chamoru name meaning shelterer, protector

Our goal is unusual international name with some meaning, I would like it to be short as well. Now, when I look at our list I am getting feeling that some names are too unusual, some are even too hyper modern or too nick-name alike. I don't know, it is hard to be objective about one of the most important decisions in our child's life. While suggestions and comments about names are welcomed, we'll leave traditional and modern Asians for some other time.

Meni se djasvi jos i: Shadia, Sirin, Nihal (ili Nehal), Farah, Alina. Ovo Alina (Aleena) mi je posebno jer skoro na svakom jeziku ima znacenje neceg lijepog.
